Delegation of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation Visits Tongji Hospital

On Nov.1st, the delegation of Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital foundation visited Tongji hospital. The delegation includes Dr. Robert McMaster, vice Chair of the Board for Research Canada, Chair of the Board of BC Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, member of the Health Research Council of BC, member of the Board of Directors of Transplantation Research Foundation of BC, Dr. Kendall Ho, professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the director of eHealth Strategy Office at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine, Ms. Angela Chapman, senior vice President, Philanthropy VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and Ms. Candice Tsang, vice president of Major Gifts and Gift & Estate Planning of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. The former president of Tongji Hospital, Prof. Chen Anmin, the current President Xu Yongjian, vice President Wang Wei and vice President Liao Jiazhi attended the welcoming meeting. In the meeting room, President Xu firstly gave a brief introduction of Tongji Hospital to the guests, which left a deep impression to the guests. Later, vice President Candice Tsang introduced the delegation members. After that, the bilateral parties extended a further discussion on the potential cooperation. Later in the morning, the delegation went the Surgery building to visit the Radiology Department and Neurosurgery Department and talked with the doctors and nursed there.

 

 

In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Optical Valley Branch of Tongji Hospital, where located just in the center of Optics Valley in Wuhan. After listening to President Liu Jihong of Optical Valley Branch, the delegation all expressed their interests and said highly praise of the excellent location, good medical environment and effective emergency procedures. Before their leaving, both parties extended their wishes for the further exchanges and cooperation.
